Hannes Snellman Advised Valmet Automotive in its Comprehensive Ownership, Structure and Financing Arrangement

Five oranges are spaced apart in a line on a sunlit concrete surface, with shadows cast by each fruit. The background is plain and grey, creating a minimalist scene.

Hannes Snellman advised Valmet Automotive in its comprehensive ownership and financing arrangement whereby the Finnish State becomes Valmet Automotive’s majority owner, with Pontos Group continuing as a minority owner, and in which Valmet Automotive’s IONCOR sub-group was divested to Finnish Minerals Group, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, and Pontos Group.

Valmet Automotive is one of the leading vehicle contract manufacturers in the world, and one of the largest European manufacturers of convertible roof and kinematic systems. IONCOR, previously operating as a subsidiary of Valmet Automotive, is one of Europe’s leading independent manufacturers of automotive battery systems.

Hannes Snellman’s core advisory team comprised Antti Kuha, Riikka Rannikko, Satu Kokko and Eerika Halme-Lampio (M&A), Markus Bremer, Heikki Majamaa and Pauliina Sutinen (Finance), Mikko Huimala and Jenni Heurlin (Competition & Regulatory), Jesper Nevalainen (IP & Tech), Heikki Vesikansa, Jenni Parviainen and Isabella Aro (Tax), and Emilia Reis (Legal Assistant).
