New Recruits Boost Hannes Snellman’s IP&TMT Offering

7 November 2016

Hannes Snellman Stockholm continues to develop its Intellectual Property & Technology (IP&TMT) offering with the recruitment of Victoria Sörving and Per Fries. Both of them have extensive experience working in intellectual property, personal data, IT and outsourcing.

The recruitments are a direct result of Hannes Snellman’s strategic investments in IP&TMT. Hannes Snellman also hired Specialist Partner Elisabeth Vestin as head of the firm’s IP&TMT group in Stockholm at the beginning of 2016.

“We have observed a clear growth in demand within IP&TMT. Sweden is at the forefront of innovation with its ever-increasing market of new digital orientated companies. This boom consequently has increased the demand for intellectual property, personal data, IT and outsourcing services. The arrival of Victoria and Per who are experienced and talented IP&TMT lawyers, significantly enhances the competence of our Nordic team”, says Elisabeth Vestin.

Victoria Sörving will, apart from being a member of the IP&TMT group, also be working in the firm’s cross-border Life Sciences team. Before joining Hannes Snellman, she was General Counsel at medical software company RaySearch Laboratories, managing a wide range of the company’s legal issues. At the same time, she was also part of the management team and secretary of the Board of Directors. Victoria previously worked at DLA Piper Sweden as a member of the IPT group, where she specialized in intellectual property law, commercial contract law and Life Sciences. Furthermore, Victoria worked as legal counsel at Pfizer during a secondment of over a year.

“Joining Hannes Snellman’s IP&TMT group felt like the natural choice due to the firm’s strategic investment in this business area, and it feels truly motivating to participate in the development of both IP&TMT and Life Sciences. I look forward to contributing my experience and competence, as well as working in innovative sectors where understanding the underlying business paves the way to give correct advice and at the same time capture our clients’ interests in the best way possible”, says Victoria Sörving.

Per Fries also joins the firm’s Nordic IP&TMT team in Stockholm. Per previously worked as a lawyer at Ramberg Advokater, where he consulted both Swedish and foreign clients on intellectual property and IT. Per focuses on personal data, IT and outsourcing contracts but he also possesses solid knowledge in strategic organization of global brand portfolios and infringement issues.

“To be a part of Hannes Snellman and the cross-border Nordic IP&TMT team is exciting. The decision to join the firm was therefore an easy one to make and I look forward to developing the firm’s offering and giving our clients first-class advice within complex areas of law, which is something I am passionate about”, says Per Fries. “It’s fast-paced, however, that’s what I’m looking for”, concludes Per.

Victoria and Per both joined Hannes Snellman during September 2016.
