Navigating Construction Disputes in Practice | 18 November 2020
11 November 2020
You are warmly welcome to join our cross-border dispute resolution webinar on Wednesday 18 November 2020 from 09:00 am to 09:45 am (EET) / 08:00 am to 08:45 am (CET).
The webinar takes the form of a panel discussion. The topic will be practical claim management, with a particular focus on what can and should be done to prepare for disputes or proceedings before they arise. The discussion will take place in the context of construction, engineering, and project delivery agreements but will also aim to provide useful general takeaways for general claim management and dispute resolution.
Topics that will be covered include:
- Current trends in construction disputes
- Mitigating dispute risks before and during the execution of the project
- Ways to avoid and be prepared for disputes at the same time
- Best day-to-day practices in (contracts &) claims management
- Avoidable common pitfalls
Our construction dispute experts Katja Perätalo and Matti Tyynysniemi from Helsinki, and Martin Rifall from Stockholm will be joined by guest panellist Tim Williams, a senior counsel at Wärtsilä in Helsinki, which provides power generation and energy storage equipment around the world to the energy sector on an equipment supply or EPC basis. Tim is a global lead for conflict prevention and dispute resolution, with a particular focus on distressed projects and large-scale construction and engineering disputes, which are typically resolved by ADR (such as mediation, adjudication, and determination) and international commercial arbitration.
