Julia Ranta Speaking at Vetypäivä on 24 September 2024

Hannes Snellman’s Associate Julia Ranta will be speaking at Vetypäivä, a day-long hydrogen seminar aimed at experts, decision-makers, lawyers, as well as company advisors and authorities interested in the potential of hydrogen. Vetypäivä delves into, among other topics, the current state of the renewable and low-carbon hydrogen regulation and hydrogen infrastructure, permitting and land use related questions, as well as the common factors uniting hydrogen projects that have reached an investment decision.

Julia will be speaking at Vetypäivä on the definition of green hydrogen and fulfilling the RFNBO requirements in hydrogen projects. Julia will also be participating in the discussion on the topic of “A new definition of low-carbon hydrogen from the perspective of Finnish industry”.

At Hannes Snellman, Julia advises clients on energy-related projects and in the field of environmental law. She has gained an extensive understanding of existing and forthcoming hydrogen-related EU regulation through various projects and academic research. Julia’s master’s thesis contributed to a multi-discipline feasibility study on an industrial-scale Power-to-X pilot plant, in which she focused on assessing the implications of the Renewable Energy Directive on hydrogen-derived Power-to-X fuels.
