Get to Know Us | Tina Jansson, Legal Assistant, Dispute Resolution, Stockholm

16 December 2019

How did you end up working as a legal assistant?

The first time I came into contact with  law studies was when I was working at an animal hospital learning journal writing. I thought it was interesting and fun, so after a while I decided to begin my paralegal studies. I did my traineeship at Hannes Snellman, and it turned out to be a perfect match!

What was your first impression of Hannes Snellman?

When I applied to Hannes Snellman, it was initially just for ten weeks as a trainee. I soon figured out that I wanted to work here permanently because of the friendly and inspiring working culture.

What is included in a “normal” working day?

You never know what each day will bring! Every day is different from the other, which is the beauty of this work. Some of my main tasks include legal research, money-laundering checks, conflict searches, registration of new matters and clients, internal and external meetings, among other things.

Can you describe your working group?

I am working as a legal assistant for both Dispute Resolution and Competition & Procurement groups. It is a fantastic group of people in many ways. Not only do we have great lawyers, but we also always work as a team and help each other out. The atmosphere here is very good.

What kinds of skills are required of a good assistant?

To be a good assistant, I think you need to be good at prioritising and organising, and you also need to be service-minded. Other very important skills include being thorough, reliable, and being able to find solutions to problems.
