You work in Hannes’s Competition & Procurement Team. Can you tell us what is included in your “normal” working day?
The work in the Competition & Procurement Team varies greatly. It can be anything from assisting other teams with competition and procurement-related questions to cases and issues that we handle within our team ourselves. A normal working day could be anything from meeting with clients to discuss a large merger case, drafting documents for the competition authorities, or helping the IP & Tech team with a competition clause in a franchise agreement. On the procurement side, it could be helping a client with a public procurement offering or assisting in a court review of a public procurement process.
What was your first impression of Hannes Snellman?
My first time at Hannes Snellman was actually my first working day as an associate, but my first impression of the firm was long before that when I was still in law school. Hannes Snellman seemed to me like a great place to start my career alongside friendly and competent people. I also liked that Hannes Snellman is a Nordic law firm with presence in both Sweden and Finland, which means that the firm handles complex cross-border cases for clients in the Nordic countries.
What advice would you give to someone who just started law school?
Take it easy! Starting law school can be a bit daunting, and you may feel like everyone else knows much more than you do, but that is not the case. Instead of comparing yourself to others, take your time and find that law can be both fun and exciting!
