Mika Pohjonen Elected New Chairman of the Board of The Finnish Competition Law Association

We are very pleased to announce that our specialist partner, Mika Pohjonen, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of The Finnish Competition Law Association. The Finnish Competition Law Association is a non-profit association established by Finnish competition lawyers and economists in 2000. The purpose of the association is to promote the knowledge of Finnish and international competition law and economics. The association has over 300 members, whom are primarily lawyers and economists from the private and public sectors as well as academia. The association arranges seminars on topical issues, participates in public discourse and partakes in legislative initiatives.

Mika Pohjonen is head of our Finnish Public Procurement team. He has exceptionally strong experience in all aspects of public procurement, and he also specialises in other areas of competition law. Mika has acted as counsel in over 200 legal proceedings at the Finnish Market Court and the Finnish Supreme Administrative Court. He has also published books and numerous articles in the fields of public procurement and competition law, including Guide to Tender Procedures on Public Construction Procurement (2013), Public Contracts Law and Contract Terms (2012, co-author Elise Pekkala), Guide to Tender Procedures on Public Life Cycle Projects (2006) and Legal Practice Concerning Public Procurement (2002).
