Hannes Snellman’s Stockholm Office Continues to Expand

27 August 2018

Two new partners, Pontus Ewerlöf and Martin Rifall, are joining Hannes Snellman's Dispute Resolution group in Stockholm. In addition to Pontus and Martin, five new lawyers will also be joining our team of experts. Together with the already existing team at Hannes Snellman, one of the largest and most competent dispute resolution groups is established across borders, between Finland and Sweden, consisting of a total of just over 30 lawyers.

Pontus Ewerlöf, whose latest position was partner at MAQS, where he was in charge of the dispute resolution group, has previously worked at Mannheimer Swartling and Cederquist. He has also worked as a judge and an assessor at the Svea Court of Appeal, and he has over 20 years of experience in court litigation  and in arbitration proceedings, both as counsel and arbitrator.

Martin Rifall, who was a partner and responsible for the construction law practice at MAQS, has previously worked at Cederquist and White & Case. Martin has 15 years of experience in dispute resolution with a focus on construction law disputes, and he is also a lecturer in construction law.

“It feels very exciting that we as a team bring together all the experience and skills we have built for several years. Since the entire team from MAQS, both partners and all assistant lawyers, are joining Hannes Snellman, the transition will be completely frictionless for all clients who choose to continue to use us and our services,” says Managing Associate Andreas Johard who also comes from MAQS and has already started to work at Hannes Snellman.

- Based on the way construction is booming, we can see that construction disputes will increase in the future, and, therefore, Martin's recruitment comes at the right time,” says Paula Röttorp, Managing Partner at Hannes Snellman's office in Stockholm. “Investment disputes are also a growing business that we are already working with, and since Stockholm has been a seat for many international arbitration proceedings, both commercial and investment disputes, for many years, Pontus will be able to represent even more cross-border clients in major international disputes, Paula continues.
