2011 – a strong transactional year for Hannes Snellman

Hannes Snellman’s 2011 portfolio of transactions includes a large number of landmark transactions across the Nordics and Russia. Among many other transactions, Hannes Snellman represented EQT in its acquisition of Fortum Energiaratkaisut and Fortum Termest from Fortum Corporation, and acted as lead counsel to the consortium of 3i, Goldman Sachs and Ilmarinen in their acquisition of Vattenfall's Finnish electricity distribution and district heat businesses in Finland. Hannes Snellman also represented Airbus in its recommended voluntary public tender offer for all of the shares and warrants in Satair in Denmark, as well as the shareholders of Orc Group in the public offer by Cidron Delfi Intressenter, controlled by Nordic Capital, to the shareholders of Orc Group in Sweden. As a result of these transactions and many more, Hannes Snellman gained a top position in Nordic league tables.


The year 2012 has taken off in a similar strong fashion, with Hannes Snellman representing ThyssenKrupp in the combination of ThyssenKrupp's stainless steel unit Inoxum with Outokumpu. Hannes Snellman also represented UPM-Kymmene in the sale of its packaging paper business to Billerud, as well as Kinnevik in its public offer to the shareholders, warrant holders and holders of debentures of Metro International.
