Niklas specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration, with a special focus on international conflict management and insolvency issues.

Niklas regularly represents Finnish and foreign corporations in arbitration and litigation. He has advised and represented clients in a number of varying assignments and disputes, including matters concerning M&A -transactions, product liability, construction and lease agreements. Niklas has gained valuable experience in international arbitration also working as a legal counsel at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).

In addition, Niklas regularly advices our clients in matters relating to financial difficulties, restructurings, bankruptcies as well as recovery of assets.

RECENT REFERENCES

• Represented a multinational real estate investor in arbitration proceedings in accordance with the Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Central Chamber of Commerce of Finland in a dispute concerning the purchase price of a shopping centre.
• Represented a Finnish paper industry company in arbitration proceedings under the Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Central Chamber of Commerce of Finland in an M&A -dispute against a major Finnish listed company.
• Represented clients in different injunction proceedings and precautionary matters in front of Finnish state courts, including representing a Finnish multinational corporation in a highly complex dispute involving several foreign parties in the obtaining of a freezing order of a counterparty’s receivables based on a first demand guarantee issued by a bank.
• Represented a large domestic company in front of Finnish state courts in connection with a dispute regarding the lease of a production plant.
• Represented the Finnish subsidiary of a U.S.-based medical company before Finnish state courts in a product liability case.
• Represented the Finnish subsidiary of a North-American mining company in several construction disputes.
• Assisted in administering the largest Finnish bankruptcy procedure in the 21st century concerning a bankruptcy estate with more than 10,000 creditors
