EXPERIENCE

Jussi practises in the Dispute Resolution group. As member of our Corporate Criminal Liabilities team, he focuses on advising clients in criminal proceedings related to intellectual property and proprietary information. Such proceedings typically involve highly technical evidence, in the handling of which Jussi's background in computer science is a valuable asset.

Apart from criminal matters, Jussi also advises clients in employment and general contract law disputes and furthermore assists in advocating commercial cases before state courts and arbitral tribunals.

RECENT REFERENCES

  • Represented successfully a Finnish company in criminal proceedings in which the State Prosecutor claimed for a corporate fine to be imposed on the company for suspected bribery of public officials. The charges regarding the suspected bribery were dismissed and the State of Finland was ordered to compensate a part of the client’s legal costs. The decision is not final.
  • Represented successfully a former managing director of a wine and spirit importing company in criminal proceedings regarding suspected misappropriation of proprietary information. All charges against the former managing director were dismissed.
  • Represented successfully clients in numerous employment-related disputes of various sorts and employment offences before District Courts and Courts of Appeal.
  • Represented successfully numerous Finnish and multinational companies in various criminal proceedings regarding industrial espionage, misappropriation of proprietary information, copyright crime and misappropriation of technical examples.
  • Advised a leading Swiss watch manufacturer on trademark infringement issues.
  • Advised a major corporate group on issues regarding media related offences.
  • Advised a media company in a dispute concerning violation of privacy.
